Job Duties and Responsibilities: Manage a diverse group of reporters and newsroom host Oversee the pitch process and lead editorial decisions Work with the GM to create and implement a strategic plan/vision for the newsroom Generate assignments and evaluate news leads and news tips to develop stories Work with senior management in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established organizational goals Monitor equipment usage and ensure the maintenance of equipment inventories Works with relevant staff to create opportunities to solicit feedback and reflect community input on news coverage priorities. Preferred Education and/or Experience: A Master’s Degree Experience in reporting for audio or radio broadcast Supervisory experience Experience in a news capacity at an NPR affiliate public radio station Experience with sound editing and radio production techniques A broad knowledge of local, regional, and national issues pertinent to Little Rock audience. Qualifications: Required Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcast, Mass Communications or Comparable Media curriculum Experience in news reporting.
